JAZZ MUSINGS...

Calling all Jazz Babies, Dawgs...grrls and booyze...

Here it is kids..the place to spit all the jazz dope...up or down dawg, it doesn't matter. Just tells us about your favorite (or least fav) CD, artist, venue, school, magazine, internet radio, radio programmer, jazz fest, non-profit organization, hall of famer, song, title, live show, book, photo, film, record label, website, inde music site, producer, manager, agent, reviewer, critic, publicist, promoter...whatever baby...just be cool and keep it real...you know that's what jazz is all about! Let's hear it for the deserving artists and related people and places... philosophical rantings and ravings are aauurite...long as they are poetic, diplomatic and tactful (it is an art form you know) but whatever you do, dawg...express it here!

Ask a question, offer a service, tell us about your favorite live show or musings from the past when Jazz was commonplace in the cultural arts of the day. We want it all...put it down baby!

HEY ALL YOU BEAUTIFUL BABIES...NOW'S THE TIME!!!...

Charles Yardbird Parker composed a fantastic tune that talked about the time for jazz to be received...and he set that time, but not everyone was ready to recieve is concepts of freedom, improvisation, open expression and spiritual connection with others. He is/was the greatest saxophonist of all time! His music changed the scene and he was an extremely talented, creative and innovative force in jazz...and all music! He showed us that we can create our lives in a way that gives us total freedom to express exactly who we are via our interests.

I'm wondering how many people out there love the concepts of jazz and whether the time for a revisiting of jazz concepts in our lives is NOW!!??!!

Here's the deal...if you feel so inspired to reply...let me know about which jazz concepts you incorporate into your everyday life...and which ones are more challenging to hold on to...

Jazz is inspirational/spiritual music...for those who are not aware...it's powerful creative concepts mimic the creative/spiritual life....i.e., IMPROVISATION, FREEDOM TO CREATE, FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION OF YOU AS AN ARTIST/COMPOSER OF YOUR LIFE...CONNECTION WITH OTHERS...AND...SETTING A GROOVE IN YOUR LIFE.....

If you relate...let me know...personally...I am working on all of the above...inprovisation as goes how to incorporate my love of music into my everyday work/livlihood. In terms of freedom to create...I am always looking for ways to create a fulfilling life. I hold workshops for vocalists, I am working on a new CD, writing original music, promoting my music, teaching students, organizing a women's group that will become a marketable concept or chain or model for other women's groups to follow...etc.

I hope you have a chance to find some cool jazz...give it a listen and see how it effects you in terms of inspiration, motivation to create and spiritually. It's my religion....babies!!!

Can't wait to hear from some of you..
